The institution has an active N.S.S. unit of 200 students. In the beginning of everyacademic year applications are invited from the students to volunteer in NSSactivities. The selected volunteers were oriented about the goals, functions and activities ofNSS by the programme officer.The institute encourages the programme officers to participate in various trainingprogrammes and workshops organized by universities and other training institutes.Students participating in the extension activities are allowed the leave of absenceduring the period of activities. They are also provided with allowances as per theguidelines of university.

The NSS organizes regular activities such as motivational lectures, tree plantation,removal of unwanted plants and trees, cleanliness rallies, blood donation camps,hemoglobin checkup of the students, health awareness programmes, plastic freevillage and no vehicle day etc. The annual budget for the NSS regular activities b is Rs. 22500/- (100 x Rs. 225).

Annual residential camp is organized in adopted village where the activities of thestudents are planned jointly by the programme officer and the sarpanch of the villages as per the need of villagers. Sensitization and empowerment activities are conducted for villagers.Survey‘s are conducted and the data along with the reports are discussed andshared with village authorities and other government authorities. The data is alsoused for planning of the future activities for the villagersN.S.S. Volunteers also organize various programmes to aware the villagers about the digital system. Best male and female volunteers are felicitated in front of the village at the end ofthe special camp.The budget for the special winter camp for the NSS volunteer is Rs. 21000/- (50 x Rs. 420)

Efforts of the volunteers are recognized by displaying their photos on displayboards and awarding certificate. Best volunteers are identified and they arepraised in front of all students during annual prize distribution ceremony.

Volunteers’ participation in Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. Under this programme volunteers aware the villagers about the harms in open defecation.
